Works fine here with my Netscape.  Just a tad slow is all.  Probably
from all our fellow RASers checking out Doodles.

Well, I think a little bit of clarification is in order :)

As Ed said, 17th of May 1814 our constitution was signed and sealed, and
someone told me that it is the second oldest constitution in the world
(after USA).

The way we celebrate it is that half the population walk in parades (usually
three, one in the morning for all the childre, one for all the organisations
and one for the high school graduates (damned drunk kids:). All the marching
bands are also playing and most of them sound crap. The second half of the
population watch. After all this parading stuff we eat and drink a lot, but
the drinking part is mostly the night before because we all have to go to
work tomorrow.

We are not wearing costumes as such, but more our traditional national
clothing, where each county got their own uniqe design. Every european
country got something similar, so don't laugh. And I tell you, the girls
usually look very nice wearing one. For those of us not fortunate to own one
(95 % of the girls and around 10 % of the boys got one) we only wear a suit
or something other nice.

And of course there are a lot of people who don't give a shit. Mostly
students who have exams tomorrow or in the coming days and left wing
radicals who think the whole deal is a bit nationalistic.

All spelling and gramatical errors are because of a few beers earlier.

I went to one once, Olav, about 5 years ago and I can truly say it was one
of the happiest days of my life. I still don't quite "get" the Russe,
especially after all the wonderful parades in the morning, but the drinking
in the evening...good lord, you boys can knock 'em down! I'm sitting here
now, drinking (I kid you not) Aass lager, from Drammen, still wondering what
that one drink I had there was. It was bleedin' powerful, had to add boiling
water to it - ring any bells?
