No, of course it doesn't make you insensitive. Ever since the day of the WTC
collapse, I knew people were going to overreact. Yes, it was a terrible
tragedy, but actually a very small one compared to so many that have
happened throughout history, and currently. 100,000 people (many women and
children) drop dead on the ground every day in Africa due to starvation and
disease. 10 children (3,500 a year) are shot to death in this country every
day, but unless 10 are shot all at once in a school, nobody cares. The WTC
was a spectacular tragedy, and people respond in a big and sometimes silly
way to spectacular tragedies. Doesn't make any real sense but it's true.

Also, I'm sorry to say but most Americans don't have a clue about history
and what is going on in the rest of the world today , so to them this is the
biggest thing ever. Complete ignorance is what I see coming out of people's
mouths when they talk about the WTC collapse.

Sounds like the same mob that petitioned Anthrax and their newly
released album Spreading The Disease, claiming they were profiteering
on the events of the time. The unfortunately overlooked the fact
that the album was released in 1986.

Cheers,
Rod.

Yup.  If more American knew history, they'd also know that the "War on
Terror" is the second we've had since 1980.  I don't want to jump to
conclusions about Bush's motivations (it's not like his past, both
private and public don't ***ing say enough) but is interesting that
one of his heroes, Ronald Reagan, turned our last terrorist crisis
into a re-election campaign and didn't do a god damned thing about the
problem, as it were.

George Bush has to be the worst president yet, ***y useless. Not
being American, from an international point of view he is an absolute
mess.

Kinda weird eh....in some ways he's "our" president as well and we have
nothing to say in the mater :-), being the leader of the most powerful
nation in the world both military and economically means that your
strengths and weaknesses shows up pretty fast

Glad it's not my job, I'd be almost as useless, I'd much rather be prime
minister of Norway, that way I wouldn't make such a huge
mess.....internationally :-)

Beers and cheers
