collapse, I knew people were going to overreact. Yes, it was a terrible
tragedy, but actually a very small one compared to so many that have
happened throughout history, and currently. 100,000 people (many women and
children) drop dead on the ground every day in Africa due to starvation and
disease. 10 children (3,500 a year) are shot to death in this country every
day, but unless 10 are shot all at once in a school, nobody cares. The WTC
was a spectacular tragedy, and people respond in a big and sometimes silly
way to spectacular tragedies. Doesn't make any real sense but it's true.
Also, I'm sorry to say but most Americans don't have a clue about history
and what is going on in the rest of the world today , so to them this is the
biggest thing ever. Complete ignorance is what I see coming out of people's
mouths when they talk about the WTC collapse.
