Mount a anti-vechicle ssm courtsey Dilbert TV series and blow any car
happen to go in your way <VBG> You will come to this idea when you have
practised from eight months in a F3 and still cannot go anything near
1:53 in Monza.

Okay, be series. Do not, I repeat, do not ever dream that you can break
the fastest lap in the first few hours. You have to invest a lot of time
offline just to practise and learn the track. Secondly, tune your car
which suits your style, or you may just d/l and fast lap setups and
adjust your driving style to them. And then more practise.

I have a GPL section on my webpage, see sig below, which also has a
GPL tips section. its *not* the most comprehensive list of tips and
helpful advice that is available, but it has all the basic's to get you
started.

Main points are:

Practice.
Practice.
Practice some more.
Oh yeah, Practice.
Practice.
Yep, you guessed it, Practice.
Last, but not least..............Practice.
And then practice for luck.

Getting the idea?

Good advise...

My power tip for getting a 1m53s F3 lap at Monza: Hug the inside out of
Parabolica and keep to the right of the main straight... that's two tenths
right there.

Check Mike Horton's site for inspiration on F3 hotlapping (my own 1m53s is
there ;-)).

or

if you're interested in racing F3's online.

What I've also found is that _how_ you practice is really important.

I got nowhere for a long period of time with GPL practicing by doing
bits of races in different cars until I crashed or got bored, changing
tracks and set ups every few minutes.  In the end, there's no substitute
for picking a set up and sticking with it for several hundred laps of a
circuit.  (Changing circuits helps, but not changing too often - it's
easy to get stuck in a rut droning round Monza).
