F1 Racing Championship is it any good?

I would have said exactly the opposite, I have GP3, F1 2000 and  F1CS. They
have all hit the recycle bin since F1RC was installed.

And there's the rub. Being able to accomplish this remains to be seen.
Poor AI is a hard thing to fix.

Not the question to ask, as everyone has differing opinions about F1RC.
GP3ers hate it.  F12k2000ers say it's worse than captivity.  GPLers, not
surprisingly, would rather eat bark off a tree than even consider looking at
the box that F1RC came in.

It might be best to ask specific questions about what you like in an F1-type
racing game and then maybe you'd get some decent answers.

But just asking flat out whether F1RC is any good won't work.  Ask a
Democrat and a Republican whether George W. has done well in his first 100
days-- those are the kind of biased responses you'll get when asking whether
F1RC is any good.

Not really. I just heard about their reaction to user mods yesterday and
sent off an email to UbiSoft Germany about stopping to buy ANY of their
games in the future, IF they actually disallow any user mods for their sims.

OTOH, I already bought F1RC, and I still like it...

Maybe you should stick with flight sims, Mr. Aviator? ;)

I'm a GP3er and GPLer but no F12ker (have to be able to recognize the tracks ;)
and I just don't see the need to LOVE one sim and HATE the others, esp. if
they are NO competition at all, e.g. GPL and F1RC, if you like modern and
historic F1.

As a GPL'er, a GP3'er and occasional F12k'er who likes F1RC I'd like to
point out that 87% of statistics are made up on the spot :)
I'm a fairly serious GPLer by the way, with a GPLRank of   - 44.92

Well I'm a GPLer (and a N4er), but I admire F1RC for the entertaining
hotlapping it gives me.  Everything else isn't very satisfying.  The worse
situation would be to try a forced***pit multiplayer race with some AI.
OUCH the nightmare ;)

Good analogy, but GPLers are democrats or republicans? :-)

No, it's the weekend, but I actually don't expect an answer. Most email
addresses found on company websites seem to be redirected to /dev/null
(trash can), at least that's my experience... ;)

It pretty good, but not sure if its the best though?

The physics are generally pretty good, but are not deadly accurate in
every area (car acceleration/braking and turning with locked wheels!)

The AI are also not the best in the World, but there is supposed to be a
patch that may fix that.

It is supposed to be a sim, but sometimes feels more like an arcade
game? Although, overall I do like it, and it is a very good attempt at a
modern F1 sim.

I have GP3 also, (amongst many other games/sims) and I think that GP3,
although not the great leap forward we were all expecting, is still
probably the best overall modern F1 sim.

Erm? bit of a generisation there I think!

I have owned GPL since the day the first demo came out on the net, and I
also own F1RC, and I like both of them.

But they are different programs portraying different era's.

GPL still (IMHO) has the best physics engine out there.

F1RC is a great modern F1 sim, not sure if its the *best* modern F1 sim
though?

BTW, I also happen to own pretty much all the other major car racing
sims (and arcade games) as well!

We (RAS) should *ALL* send a similar e-mail, I know its only a token,
but it may help them to change their mind?
