Nascar 2 demo Car Setups?

can anyone tell me if you can use the setups you have for nascar in
nascar2? I noticed the demo came with 3 setups for each track but it
will not allow me to change the setups or load in a different one. Can
you hack them anyway to make them better? At Atlanta the steering lock
is set for 14 and i need to chage it to about 6.

Thanks in advance,
Matt

I don't know if you can use setups from Nascar1, but you can use the other
setups included in the demo.  Each track comes with the usual ACE, FAST,
EASY, and QUAL setups.  Just copy one and rename it default.st1.  You will
then be able to run that track with the new setup.

I tried renaming the .stg and .st1 files, but the game ran without
complaining.

I think that the car setup is hard coded in the atlanta.dat file , and
the .stg files aren't being used at all.

Am I right in supposing that the default.st1 file is used if you don't
select a car?

Thanks

If you take the ACE.STG (or others) in the TRACKS\ATLANTA (same for WG), and rename it to
DEFAULT.ST1, you will have a better setup. Be careful though, ACE is REAL loose (but fast).

Yes you can use the old setups from NASCAR1.  As a matter of fact you
can use NASCAR 1 to tweak the setup for the demo.  Just copy the setup
you want to the demo's track file.  Make sure you rename it to
default.st1 as this is the setup file used by default.
