MOMO Wheel - MS Pedals

Man, I forgot to bring home my little "MS Pedal - MOMO Wheel" adapter! :(
I was planning on testing it with GPL, F1 2002, NFS 5 and Netkar. Bummer!
But I did try it at work with LFS. No problem whatsoever with the latest
patch, but earlier versions was no go. Games with poor controller setup
could be a problem because the two pedal sets doesn't output the same
voltage range, and one of the axis will be reversed. The calibration seems
to adjust to the new voltage range immediately, and it should be possible to
invert the axis in the driver software if it's not possible to do in the
game. I don't know why older LFS didn't work, but I'm looking forward to
more testing.

My modification is by the way "non destructive" in that no tampering is done
to the MOMO or the MS pedal set. No soldering, no changing pot's. Just a
small PCB with 4 connectors. You plug it into the MOMO, and connect the MS
pedals, MOMO power supply and a regular USB cable.

Should however my "state of the art" adapter turn out to be incompatible
with some sim or game I enjoy, I will immediately start the development of
version 2!

Just thought some of you might be interested. There must be thousands out
there just waiting for a cheap replacement for their inferior MOMO pedals.
No?

Cheers,

Jone

Yup. It's just that I sold my non-FF Sidewinder wheel after buying the
MOMO...

I added a stiffer spring for the brake and I find the pedals are very
comfortable and work really well. To each his own I guess.

something like this:

I replaced the MOMO brake spring with a squash ball... made a huge
difference, but still the MS pedals were IMO better.

How big are squash balls?   are they bigger or smaller than a tennis
ball and are they hollow?

I had a squash ball but thought that it felt 'mushy'. The stiffer spring
worked well for me.

something like this:

I think it comes down to personal preference... and for me it was
easier to find a squash ball than a stiffer spring ;)

A squash ball's diameter happens to be exactly same (or very close
anyway) as the length of the original brake pedal spring of the MOMO
pedals. Ie. it's smaller than a tennis ball. And yes, they are hollow,
and come in different stiffnesses... I'd recommed the softest (can't
remeber which color was the softest though).

GPL, F1 2002, NFS5, LFS and Netkar all worked OK. I suspect I must have
messed up something else when earlier LFS's didn't work.

This is how the MOMO and MS padals are wired.
