A 5 day competition that no one wins?!?  That's why Americans can't get into
that game.  We demand a winner!<g>

Knock on wood. Just give him the cup (tm). Is it really true that
500.000 in Sweden saw the last race ? That's almost 3 times the
numbers F1 get on this side of the border.

F1 Is For Whimps!

Wow...

There were actually some serious replies.....and the rest of you didn't get
too out of hand.  I was expecting the off letter bomb in my mail though (so
I hired an explosive sniffing dog for the last couple days to check my mail
over before I opened it).....lol.

For the record:

1.  I don't think F1 is for whimps.  I made the post to stir up the
newsgroup a bit.  Maybe even get some people motivated to make a post that
don't normally make them.  It seemed to work....and there were some pretty
creative ways of getting around my "instructions" which many of you figured
out, would make you vote: F1 Is For Whimps! ....lol....

2.  I think "whimps" is spelled correctly....at least via the Franklin spell
checker I use......it is.

3.  I think Francois Menard is a "whimp"....but dang it, he didn't
reply.....so I can't start a new string voting on whether he's a whimp or
not.  Darn!

4.  Interesting how the human mind works.....managing to get several posts
about "cricket" in this string?  That was a bit of stretch....I thought!

5.  I managed to meet Mika Hakinnen (sp?) a few weeks back, McLaren driver
(but you F1 guys probably know that) as he was climbing into his car for a
test session at Silverstone.  I actually got to hold his wheel, while he
climbed into the car....I was invited into the McLaren garage to observe the
engine warm-up procedures.  Maybe I gave him some luck, he ended up winning
the Silverstone race (British GP) this year I believe, did he not?
Therefore, I couldn't in all seriousness......really think F1 was for
whimps....now could I?

6.  Every driver who manages the awesome task of taking a green flag to
start a race......is my hero.  I know how much luck and effort it takes to
pull that off.  That goes from amateur SCCA "Solo II" drivers to....yes, F1
drivers.....and everyone in between.

No...I don't think F1 is for whimps.....and shame on anyone.....who voted
"for" that idea!

Regards,

Tom Pabst

Tom,

I had to fill in for Frank as I believe he is still on "vacation".  Now, I
believe it has more to do with incarceration than "vacation", but that's
another debate ;)
