Is there actually a sim that never shows you your road speed?

I should think that it would be a much safer bet for the LFS chaps to just
include a speedo that you can ignore if you want, rather than leave it out
for a little bit of extra realism.
I don't suppose it would be that much extra work to include a speedo _and
tach, and specifically excluding it from the game could affect sales.

Viper Racing has both in the dash, I can't really see any reason why LFS
shouldn't just do the same.

What I mean is if the car has a speedometer (like the street cars in the
demo) then show it and preferably in the dash.  If the car doesn't (like
race cars that may be in the final LFS version), then don't put in a
speedometer.

Funny, not one comment yet on having the displays on the dash rather than
floating about.  Guess everyone missed my point.

Right...but it sure helps when u look at other drivers replays. When u
see one of the "***s" replays turning with 100 km/h u maybe want to
practice that part of the track so u can increase your speed (in my
situation I see several drivers going through the chicane with 110-115
km/h, and I can _never_ go through the same chicane with speeds past 96
km/h :( )

What you're describing there (or asking for) is telemetry data, not a speedo
in the car.
Telemetry data can be very useful if you make the most of it, but again it's
not essential info while you're racing.
While you're actually in a race, you don't know the speed of the car ahead
in kph, but you can see that they are faster or slower than you. That's
what's important at the end of the day.

So you can tell if your own times (and therefore speed and technique) are
improving or not as you try different lines around the track.

Also so you can tell how much faster or slower your competitors are (if you
can't see them directly).
