The driving model is fantastic with a force feedback wheel. It's not
GPL obviously - it's an arcade game - but it's superb for it's genre.
I really like the fact that they used force-feedback properly, to
model car sliding and when the wheels braking away. Most arcade games
waste FF by using it only for collision and road texture effects. In
Driver you can feel your way through a powerslide (and feel when to
apply opposite-lock) and it feels great.
One of the replays shows of the night/rain effect. It, and the
graphics in general, are very good and fast on my P2 300/12MB Voodoo 2
(be sure to turn up the default draw-distance).
Does anyone have those cheats for mission editing so I can just drive
around for a while? I want to play this demo a lot!

Hacked with no damage and more police cars this really is quite
impressive. Ok, not GPL impressive, but when I'm hacking along the
freeway, diving through gaps in the traffic, with cops looming in my
mirrors it really does feel very real... in a cinematic "oh f*ck they're
going to catch me" sort of way.
And watching the demos is probably worth the DL on its own... very
impressive looking handling. Doesn't feel quite so convincing from inside,
but I can't find anything other than key controls, so that may account for
it. Still, it feels good enough to me for this kind of entertainment.
Collision physics is also worth a mention, especially in multiple pile-ups
at traffic lights... not that I condone this kind of behaviour, obviously
<g>.

Is the Pope Catholic? Having just discovered the control options (there's
nothing wrong with the demo that a readme wouldn't cure!) I may find out.
Managed to crash the demo though with my first attempt to setup my control
options :-)
