Smartass......:-), had a quick look at the TV to see if there was
anything remotely interesting on.....took me 4 mins to realize I was
living in a Bruce Springs*** song and returned to my PC with a freshly
opened beer

That's exactly what I do. You have to pick a point where you say "right,
that's it, I'm going out to buy the best thing on the market I can afford".
I bought my original 3dfx for just over 100, and it lasted me for ever, but
is it really worth paying that much more for that little hike in
performance? The people who go for the second-best on the market still have
pretty decent cards, but they can upgrade them sooner than the guys that
went big. Everybody is different. I am perfectly happy with my GF2, and only
the prospect of Deus Ex 2, Doom 3 and Thief 3 is making me want to upgrade.
But by the time that comes around, I will be able to get a GF4 for about 10
after NV30 hits the streets...
