in online races how can i make gpl save the whole replay, as i was in an ace
race but it only caught the action from lap 8 onwards it there a key i have
to press or something??

Look in your GPL folder for a file called core.ini. Open it with notepad and
look for the following lines

[ Replay ]

replayMemoryOverride = 64000   ; Replay size adjustment

Your file will have a smaller number in it than the one above (its from my
core.ini) so increase the number until you can save an entire race. The
above number lets me save a typical long race plus a bit of the practise. .
It helps to have plenty of physical memory so that the replay writer doesn't
start accessing your hardrive in the middle of the race. Experiment a bit
until it suits you.

ive added that line to my core.ini but there was no previous value before?

In that case the replay was governed by the defualt value which is rather
small. Hope the new line fixed you up to get long enough replays. A good
reference site for a lot of new guy questions is Alison Hines site at
http://simracing.com/alison/gpl/ . She has a really good help section there
plus lots of advise and setups for the new GPL'er.

It overrides the default which is based on how much ram your puter
has.  The value is in kb.  64000 is 64mb.  You probably should not use
a value higher than 1/2 system ram.

You can add the lines to your core.ini to modify the replay length. The
added lines will override the too short default settings( which aren't shown
in the core.ini). Check Alison Hines site in the help section for more
