CMR v RC2000 & rally Masters

Last weekend I played CMR 2 all weekend, thought it was great, gravel & dirt
is very good but did not like the sealed roads at all. Something was not
right & after reading some of the posts on CMR 2 & RC2000 I thought I would
give RC2000 another go.
I hired RC2000 about 6 months ago & could not get into it plus the video
card was not up to the job.
I bought RC2000 ($43 aus at EB, it was $89 elsewere)
It's great, played it most of the night it gives something back that CMR 2
does not  "feel".
I thought I was wrong so I just played CMR 2 again I do belive RC2000 is
better. If only I could try RC2000 on some wider sections to compare the
too.
What about Rally masters?  how does it compare with CMR 2 & RC2000, better
or worse?

CMR v RC2000 & rally Masters

A lot of people "crow" about the great physics of Rally Masters, but frankly
I find the car too nervous and twitchy. Rally Masters is a lot of fun, has
similar trackside/countryside graphics to that of CMR2, although the cars
look better in CMR2.

As for physics, I find that CMR2 has a better feel to it,  as you can throw
the car around and still have a hope of recovering if you overdrive, where
in Rally Masters if you get it out of shape, your gonna spin, almost every
time with little hope for recovery.

Now some may say that this is how a REAL rally car should feel like, however
I don't believe the game makers really know how an actual WRC car feels, nor
was it their intention to create a pure simulation like GPL. I think they
were going for an acceptable cross between simulation and arcade, between
realism and fun, between a title that will sell (even to casual driving game
fans) and one that may make the purists happy but won't sell enough copies
to justify the work done in writing it (again see GPL!).

As for RC2000 has a realistic feel and look about it, and the long stages
are much more of a challenge than the short stages of Rally Masters and
CMR2, but as many have said the car seems glued to the ground. You can't
powerslide and/or drift it through corners the way you can in Rally Masters
and CMR1 and CMR2, still I find this game a blast, it's only drawback is the
fact that it's modeled around a single countries rally, rather than offering
rally stages in other parts of the world, with snow, gravel, dust, tarmac,
etc, etc that we find with Rally Masters and CMR1 & 2..

So between the three titles I'd rank CMR2 as tops, followed by a near tie
between RC2000 and Rally Masters.

If I were only going to purchase two of the three, I would pick CMR2 and
RC2000 as they give you a very different, yet both entertaining offering at
driving a Rally Car.

You can tweak the physics in RC2000 to make it much better.  It's no GPL,
but a ton better than the default settings.
