Help, Thrustmaster GP1 Wearing Out

by C. Beaudoui » Thu, 15 Mar 2001 00:08:32

My trusty GP1 wheel is wearing out.  I like having the brake and
accelerator on the wheel.  I provides good touch and I don't have to get
the pedals and seat in exactly the right places relative to each other.

Now, I've just discovered some big cracks in the front plastic face.
Are there any places where you can still buy GP1's?  Or, is there
another wheel that has similar controls.  TIA for any help.

You could try looking for the Thrustmaster Sprint racing wheel
which, in my opinion, is far superior to the GP1 in the cheap wheel
stakes (better clamping system, less fore/aft play, four buttons on
the wheel itself...).  If you play GPL, you also benefit from having
separate axes for throttle and brakes.  Just remember to chuck the
included pedals after opening the box.

Claude,

I use a TSW2 for some Sims but It just doesn't like  some Sims.

I just bought a Thrustmaster Charger wheel which has both a brake and gas
levers  PLUS Pedals if you want to use them.

I found mine through www.pricewatch.com
