Yes, truly amazing isn't...No, wait a moment, this is
rec.autos.simulators? GPL is an auto.simulator made by Papy, who also
have a catalogue of other such sims and most of the threads here revolve
around sim racing, right?

So, it may seem amazing to you, but christ knows why!

What, even if it's a REALLY good sim? Or REALLY REALLY good, what then?
Still don't buy it?

100% ok with you.

Did you get the 2.0 update from the german site ?

Made by G-rone and the rest of the band, it is just great....

F1RC where is the f'in patch???

eh?  I take it you are intentionally missing the point, but just in case let
me repeat.  My point is that no matter what the subject matter in this
group, cetain peope insist on getting GPL into the thread whether it's
relevant or not.
If we were discussing the size of Jacques Villeneuve's underwear, sure
enough someone would bang on about how good Papy would be at making
underwear if it used the GPL physics engine, and no doubt JV would require a
larger size if he improved his GPL rank!

The usual anti GPL, anti Papy rhetoric.

I think it's ALL in your mind, Iain. Seems to me you have a chip on both
shoulders! AND I think you have become abscessed :(.

Very sad

Far from it Gerry, I love GPL and over the last 3 years I've used it more
than any other sim and still spend a lot more hours a week on it than I
should do.  There is no anti-Papy rhetoric from me.  It's not Papy that is
the problem - they are a wonderful bunch of guys who have produced quality
sims over the years that I have bought and loved.
The problem is with many of the people on this group who are unable to read
posts or communicate on a subject without bringing GPL/Papy into it whether
relevant or not.
If fans of all other sims did the same, this ng would be completely boring!
Iain

Yes it is indeed 'abscessed', with a chip on both shoulders an infection
like this is the usual result :(

So you drive with 5 AI at beginner level, huh?

Ouch!  Sorry about that, but surely you'd have been disappointed without at
least *one* smart-assed comment wouldn't you? :-)

sh*t.  who told you?

*grin*.

actually, i do find that it is quite hard to overtake the AI in
beginner level as you come up on them quite quickly because of the
speed difference.  maybe the AI has the same problem too ?

i'm a sucker for eye candy, i guess.  the main reason i play it is to
prepare me for the f1 broadcast of the same(sort of) tracks.  i then
like to compare the footage with the game.
