You don't need the above line unless you have the refresh set on the
3DFX card higher than 75hz. I see no line in your config for refresh
rate so that means it's going to default to 60hz. Following is the
line you need to set the refresh rate.

SET SST_SCREENREFRESH=75

If you read the subject line of my posting, I have a Pure3D.  And in
case you didn't know, the Pure3D's refresh rate, gamma setting, and
clock speed are set via its Win95 drivers, not with SET statements like
the Monster3D.  So fear not, I do know what I am doing.

No, I didn't know that. Sorry for my mistake, but if one doesn't have
a Pure3D then how can you expect them to know that. I wasn't
criticizing your abilities, just trying to help. There is no need for
your insulting tone.

Youre right, I apologize, but I have tried several times on this newgroup
and 3dfx.games.glquake, to pass along learning experiences I have had with
3Dfx games and the Pure3D; and everytime I do someone always has to nitpick
the details.  And I guess I just get a little tired of it.  I am only trying
to help, not trying to make it look like I know more than the next guy.
