MODEM SETUP IN GP2 - PLEASE HELP!!

by J. Nielse » Wed, 28 Aug 1996 04:00:00

Hi there.

The great game - GP2 - drives me nuts, because the game wil not find my
AT&T DataPort Express v.34 (28.8) - internal modem.
The modem normally runs fine in com4 in win95, nascar, ROTT and Duke
Nuke'm 3d. But GP2 can't find it!!

I don't think that the modem i too old, because I bought it 3 weeks ago.

Could anyone please help me, so tha I can try the modemgame - maybe
against someone at this newsgroupe???

Thanks!!

I had the same problem. Try disabling the port where your modem is
located via your CMOS setup. That was my problem, but unfortunately, even
after I got my modem to work with GP2, I'm still very disappointed as GP2
modem play sucks!( Very slow frame rate)

My friend had the same problem. We eventually solved it by using
COMSETUP (found on the GP2 CD). I'd have to find the exact string we
used, but basically it was something like COMSETUP 2E8 3E8. We had
initially tried "COMSETUP 0 3E8" (i.e. a "0" for COM3 because he had
nothing on COM3" but that was no help. Make sure you have both
parameters.

E-mail me if you need the exact parameters we used.

regards,
Rob
