We know how passionate David K was about his product and I am sure that he
would be loathe to "corrupt" it by changing the type of cars but not
altering the physics.

Since you can alter so much on the existing cars to affect handling, I
figured it'd be natural for a more modern car to be installed with
it's own set of handling parameters.
Thats the nice thing about having a game engine that models the sim
world so completely. Model the universe, and the detail changes will
react dynamically.
I would hope you could install, say, a Porsche 911 Turbo, and make the
dynamics right for a high powered car with lots of *** and a
rearward weight bias.
From there, the game engine would take care of how the vehicle should
act in the GPL universe using it's weight, power, and suspension data.
The last thing I want is a car that looks like a modern sports car,
but still acts like a 67 GP car. :-)

Randy Cassidy has stated that with the GPL physics engine, you could plug
in the values for your street car,and it would drive exactly that way in
gpl. So,the physics engine isn't directly tied to the 67' F1 cars, but rather
it could be used for any racing sim that Papyrus chooses ei,CART2.

(Grin) I'm willing to bet you could plug the numbers into the GPL
engine and have a street car which would spin off into the scenery every
few minutes as you slightly misjudged the apex coming out of your driveway.
