That's a great tip, btw. It happened once that I lost my mirrors and I had
no idea why. I had inadvertently hit '1'. I didn't even know the option
existed to turn mirrors on/off on the fly before then.
Another one that bit me was that I had accidently turned on Steering Help
(F1 key). I thought I had a major deadzone problem until I figured that
one out.
Somebody mentioned that some nVidia drivers make the mirrors disappear. Try
using the latest certified drivers maybe... I'm using a Ti4600 also and
currently have 40.72 installed and mirrors seem to work fine.
PS Has everyone made sure that they've done the high-res mirrors tweak?
