F1C high res mirror?

by Claude Lecler » Thu, 17 Jul 2003 12:18:51

I tried a bigger mirror.bmp in cmaps.mas using masstudio2002 without
success.
It's working great in F12002 but in F1C I get part of the right mirror only.

Anyone as a fix. This is a small thing but I find it annoying...

Unfortunately you have to change the SCN file for each track.  There should
be a line that says something like 128.0, 64.0 change it to something like
512.0, 256.0 (assuming those are the dimensions of your mirror.bmp file)
Also at the end of the line is the centering for the mirror -  I can't
recall what to change it to but you should be able to figure it out.  The
problem is, there's 4 SCN files for each track and changing them all
manually would take ages, so I used a text editing prog called Ultra Edit
which has a 'replace in files' option which you can tell to do a search &
replace through all .SCN file (remember to search folders as well)  Good
Luck!

Does this happen on all tracks?  If it only happens on one or a couple
of tracks, check the "rear view" setting in the track's .SCN file.  It
should have a size like (128, 64) and position of (64, 32) -- or
something similar.  My copy of TheRing did this, and changing rear view
to match my working tracks fixed it.  Worth a look.

Yes, I have it at 512 x 256. I'll try that tonight.

Thanks.
