Don, you're fast enough - you don't need any help...<g>

Hmm - mine does that too.  Not as bad as yours, but noticible.  Maybe that's
causing me some problems in games, and I just don't realize it?  If I feel
lucky, maybe I'll try to upgrade this week.

Hmmm, interesting... I might check out DX9 then as I have the
same sypmtoms on my gameport connected TSW. is it available for
download somehwere? I checked the Microsoft site and all it
offered was some 1 Meg web based installer...

FWIW, I recently used Ghost 2003 to image onto a partition on my 160G.  The
partition is 75G or so.  I did not try imaging to the full size though so I
can't comment on that.

Sure......

Create 2 partitions, a 10GB one where you install Windows + all your Windows
application software.  The second partition has all the other stuff like
games, music, videos, patches, documents etc.  Do a ghost backup of the 10GB
'system' partition onto an image file on the second partition before
installing any major windows software.  Simple and very powerful.

Do a search for "directx" within Microsoft's downloads section, and get the
"DirectX 9.0b Redistributable for Software Developers" (~32MB).
