TSW2 vs. TSW

TSW2 vs. TSW

by Rick Worre » Sat, 03 Oct 1998 04:00:00

OK, I need everyone's opinions here.  I am on my second wheel right
now, a TMaster Nascar Pro and it's, well, OK.  Not great, not bad,
although it's pretty problem-prone.  I've already had it in for one
repair/replacement and now it's due for another.  Of course, shipping
to them is at my expense...

Anyway, I just love racing and I'm considering getting a TSW wheel.  I
see a lot of posts praising the TSW2 wheel, so I started getting
curious about people's opinions.  I know that people love the TSW, but
how does the TSW2 compare to it.

All opinions are welcome (oh, and Trev, if you're lurking--please
weigh in! <g>).

Thanks, everyone.

TSW2 vs. TSW

I don't have any experience with the original TSW, but I can testify
that the TSW2 is built like a TANK.  I believe it is a simplified
version of the TSW (no quick-disconnect connectors in the wiring
harness, etc.), but it's not a "cheapie" knock-off of the original by
any means.  To get an idea of how the TSW2 compares to Thrustmaster's
NASCAR Pro wheel, check out the following review:

Enjoy!

John, every once in a while, someone will post the perfect link (tm).
This was it!

Thanks a lot for steering me to the review.  It is *exactly* what I
was looking for, but couldn't find.  It totally confirms my
disappointments with the Nascar PRO, and it really has me geeked up
about the TSW2.

Thanks again.

TSW2 vs. TSW

Hey Rick... I got a TSW2 a few months back and LOVE IT.  I had been
using a TM Nascar Pro, and there is no comparison (the damn pedals on the TM
wouldn't even stay in one place on the floor... horrible design.)
Get the TSW2.  The company has lots of upgrade options should you want
to add the bells and whistles (clutch, real pedals, paddle shifters, etc) at
a later time.

TSW2 vs. TSW

Glad to help, Rick -- the NASCAR Pro wheel is a very good wheel, but
if you drive a lot, the TSW2 is DEFINITELY the way to go.

TSW2 vs. TSW

by se.. » Sat, 10 Oct 1998 04:00:00

..
I'm running a TSW Formula, with the T-paddle shifters and a dual axis
switch. I got it for GPL. If I hadn't been able to scrape up the
money, I would have sold my wife and both daughters into the
white-slave trade to get it. I was using a GP1. I  am getting somewhat
faster times, 1:30.16 at Monza, but the great feel, and the confidence
it gives you makes it a real winner, altho admittedly expensive. The
question is, how many hours are you going to put on sims? I put 2 to 7
hours per day! I'm retired, and I have the time. The difference with
the TSW2? Well, I don't find any advantage to the dual axis switch in
GPL, altho it helps alot in GP2. As far as the plugs go, you could
install your own plugs pretty easily i would think.
