(Q) GPL Spy Boy

(Q) GPL Spy Boy

I'd like to make a suggestion to the author or Spy Boy, but I don't want
to join a mailing list to do it. So, if anyone is on the list, could you
please relay this to the author?

I'd like to be able to have Spy Boy check the user's current GPL setup
and refuse to allow a connect if they don't have the correct chassis
selected.

The reason is that I run several open practice sessions every week for my
league in order to fill up the grid a little more.  There are several
races scheduled where we run "spec" races (everybody drives in the same
chassis with an unmodified default setup), and I weant everyone that
joins the race to be required to run the correct chassis.  many people
don't see, can't read, or just outright IGNORE the comments entry in the
list of races, so I figure if we can stop them from joining if they don't
have the correct chassis selected, it would be a great help.

It would also be abig help if they were confronted with a timed dialog
box (that remained displayed for 15 seconds or so) that showed them the
race comments BEFORE launching GPL.

One more thing.  Can we have Spy Boy allow us to refuse to let people
with offensive or questionable nick names join the races?  I'm certainly
no saint, but it bothers me when someone named "***ing Berserk" (no
kidding, someone is using this nick) or "Kamikaze" joins races I'm
hosting, and it certainly makes everyone else in the race a little edgy
too.

Let me say up front that I didn't have problems with either of these two
individuals' driving style (in fact, both were very well behaved and
respectful), but the names they use certainly don't go very far towards
promoting confidence in their desire to compete cleanly.

If either of these two individuals want to conmnect to my server in the
future, I don't care who you are or even want to know who your are, but
please use more appropriate nicknames in the future on my server.  Thanks
in advance.

You'll be able to do everything you listed above as soon as the Gpl
1.1 patch is released.  GSB 2.0 will allow you to set up your options
as your hosting the race.  And you'll be able to kick anyone out you
want.
