I didn't really now what this was, or how it fits in with VROC, but I
downloaded and installed it anyway. But it doesnt work - tells me file not
found. I pointed to my GPL directory as C:\Sierra\GPL - it wouldnt let me
choose C:\Sierra - is this right?
Maybe my IP address is wrong - I thought these things were dynamically
assigned so changed each time?

Hi Julian,
SpyBoy is a front end program used to access the VROC data base for
on-line play with GPL.
It does not require the use of Netscape or any other software to
achieve this, other than Windows 95/98 with Winsock version 2.00 or
later.
It enables you to join or host races on VROC and has quite a few added
benefits, such as built in IRC chat room functionability and file and
information transfer capabilities between players...

The problem you are refering to has been fixed in the latest version of
SpyBoy,  Version. 1.0.0.95
The latest version can be downloaded from within SpyBoy, by going to
the   Help tab   and selecting    Latest News...
Follow the links to download the latest version.
Cheers,
Ron

Quick fix is that you need an address.ini file in your GPL directory.
However, the better fix is to get the patched version that fixes this
and many other more vital things (like over-taxing VROC -- something
none of us want to see).
