I have to agree with John,***yahoo, this is RAScar not Yahoocar. I was
signed up for yahoo for the UKGPL mail list untill recently but yahoo have
stopped the service to me for some reason, i dont know why and to be honest
i dont care because the amount of spam to my mailbox has reduced by about
80-90%, although i miss the UKGPL community mails i do not miss the ton of
spam that comes with it.

I would rather we use the RaceSimCentral forum if we have to take Rascar
away from RAS, i'm sure Phil Lee could setup a members only forum, in
addition to the open forum where new members register.

I also vote to please, please keep it here over both Yahoo and
RaceSimCentral. I am just a simple unfrozen caveman, your fancy Yahoo
graphics and complicated web based message boards frighten and scare
me. Please let me keep my simple newsreader.

Actually, I just don't like Yahoo. Once you're on there, you can't
*really* delete your account. I've tried at least half a dozen times in
the last six months, and it just doesn't seem to take. Further, they
changed my privacy settings without asking me first, and now I'm getting
spammed to hell and back.

Yahoo and other sites of that ilk are bogus and downright evil. I don't
do "free" websites (geoshitties, tripod, etc), I don't do instant
messaging (ICQ, AIM, MSNM), and I don't do yahoo.

I was wondering whether they might want to achieve that you sort of 'verify'
your email address to them from time to time (by going to Yahoo to re-enable
it and allowing them to send a 'verification mail'), so they can sell it for
more money.

Maybe I need to fire up my news server again, I agree that Yahoo sucks
and I'm no big fan of web based message boards either, but if the RASCAR
message count goes through the roof, I can see that those not really
interested might find it a tad annoying

Now where did I put that NT4 Server CD .......

try leafnode, it's a small newserver that is really simple to
setup and maintain.

I may have to do that, will it run under NT4 or Win2k or do I need a
Linux box :-)
