My only problem witht hat is placing my credit card details in an email -
not very secure.

Does anyone know if this game is released in Australia as I am heading back
to Melbourne in March for a holiday ?

Thanks

Brad

Handing your credit card to a waiter is not real
secure, either.  If you want, you can try to wade
through the webhallen website.  Unfortunately,
it's in Swedish.  :(

It's possible that a UK site might offer the game.
www.softwarefirst.com comes to mind.

STCC2 Patch released

by himrli.. » Wed, 24 Jan 2001 12:11:15

Here's the readme:

Fixes in version 3.0.

* Better computer opponents in the hard and very
hard difficulty settings.
* Highscores with car ID > 31 doesn't wrap in the
highscore table.
* Auto tyre selection in multiplayer changed so
that soft tires are selected in less than 6 lap
races.
* Fixed a bug where some AI drivers didn't drive
in the second race of a multiplayer game.
* Reverse mode menu selection now works in
multiplayer. Doesn't work very well with computer
opponents though...
* Direct and team messages in the lobby. Type /msg
<playername> <chat text> or /msgteam <chat text>.
* A bit more difficult to get a black flag
penalty.
* Black flag penalty now works better in
multiplayer.
* A damaged Camaro gearbox now only has 4 gears :)
* Slightly more engine reduction when damaged.
* Correct friction on the curbs.
* Tyre damage now affected by wheel drive type.
* Tires are now replaced with new ones during a
multiplayer pitstop (only if pitrepair is on).
* Textures are now substituted if found in the
"Textures" directory.
* A bit more grip during rain.
* Cars no longer hit each other during a
multiplayer pitstop.
* The car doesn't reset to the track from the
Mantorp Long pitstop.
* Formula-DICE cars doesn't spin during a rolling
start.
* Pit-start zone moved on Geller?sen.
* Server results log now works.
* Some other minor bug fixes.

Thanks to all STCC players for the help to narrow
down these bugs.
Special thanks goes to Magnus, Team Kumla, and
Mikko, Team Grov Gasarna.

If you use Netscape or Opera, you can use
Webhallen's secure ordering.  (For some reason, it
does not work with Internet Explorer.)  And if you
don't happen to read Swedish, you'll need a
translation site to help you navigate the forms.

Is there anthing in any of the patches that improves the steering feel
over the demo ?  I thought the wheel was a little too On/off and mostly
had a problem with insufficient steering lock...  If so, I'll try to
get this, seemed like a good game...
