From what I could tell by getting on one of their web sites (gleaned from
the poster's email address), it looks like there's a bunch of people posting
all kinds of things from xxx rated movies to who knows what. They store
these on several binary newsgroups (which have nothing to do with the
newsgroup topic) and can then be downloaded from the website via a menu. In
other words, they're using the newsgroups as free storage space. I could be
wrong about this and I only spent a minute or so on the site (I have better
things to do, like practice Goodwood for my next GPL race), but that's what
it looked like at first glance.
It might be a good idea to get started on the new binary newsgroup before
killing the old one, just in case it takes a while.
Oh, 1:31s so far at Goodwood, FV class (F3 engine+F2 chassis = great online
racing) in the BRM no less. Goal is 1:30s by race time :-)
