ICR misc bugs and comments

I sent the following to Papyrus on Nov. 30. Interestingly, I never received
comments back. Anyways, let me share with you a couple of bugs I've
found and a couple of comments:

Greetings!

I was delighted to finally be able to purchase IndyCar Racing last week.
It is tremendous, and definitely worth the wait, living up to my
expectations. However, I would like to report a couple of bugs:

1) At NHIS, twice the following occurred: As you know, the pit stall is
just past start/finish. Both times I made pit stops, I overshot the pits
and had to back up. Both times, I overshot while in reverse and had
backed up past start/finish, so I then had to come forward to pull into
my pit. Somewhere in this process (probably backing over s/f), the computer
docked me a lap. I am positive in both cases that I did not really go a
lap down, as there was no audio or visual indication of any car passing
me on the straightaway, much less the leaders. Both times before I
pitted I had caught up to the back of the back, and they were quick
stops, so it would have been unreasonable to think I was lapped anyways.
If it makes any difference, I was one lap down when I made the first
stop, then as a results, when I made the second stop I was two laps
down, so when I left the pits the second time I was a total of three
laps down. I would also like to note that these stops were under
different yellows.

2) On street coures, crashing with leader while he's lapping you brings out
full course yellow, which is being run at race speed.  This is not
correct. In all instances, all laps under yellow are run at 55-70 mph
(depending upon the track) by the pace car. I should have been able to
catch up with the back of the back by running race speed, as nobody got
by when I got tangled with the leader. However, I was running at race
speed, with the remaining leaders catching up (but not passing) me.

I realize these are not major bugs, but I thought they should be
reported nonetheless.

A couple of suggestions:

1) A 1-to-go before a green flag signal should be added. In real IndyCar
racing the starter gives the field a 1-to-green signal (he holds up 1
finger). (no, not the middle finger, the index finger! :-) )

2) Have either a cruise mode under full course yellows more sophisticated
than Indianapolis 500: The Simulation to where it will automatically turn,
brake, and accelerate appropriately; or have a key to hit to "fast
forward" thru full course yellows to the 1-to-green signal. This will
save some time for long races, and for people playing using the
keyboard, help save their hands (of all times for my joystick to
break...).  Keep in mind, if there is a "fast forward", the computer
should simulate running those laps quickly for fuel consumption.

And finally, a couple of questions:

1) When will Road America be added?
2) When will Indianapolis be added?

Thanks for a great game!!!!

Since then, I've duplicated the bug dinging you a lap if you back up
over s/f at portland. I have not been able to duplicate the bug about
crashing with the leader.
