AMD 1.4, 512Mb RAM, Gigabyte 7DX MB
Geforce 3, SB Live Plat
Dual Boot
win98 SE and Win2k SP2 (Both running DirectX8.0a and Nvidia 12.41 Drivers)
Contollers:
(1) USB - Original LWFF (Running version 4.0 of LWFF software in both OS's)
(2) CH Pedals
Under Both win98 SE and Win2K SP2 the controllers are seen in the game
controllers as follows:
LWFF USB is seen as controller 1
CH Pedals seen as Controller 2
Problem 1: How are people installing the CH Pedals in Control Panel - (I
have set them up as 3axis 4 button but that does not work in GP3 - the Yaxis
is not available. So I downloaded the JOYREG util from Stickworks and
install the Z Only controller reg hack. My CH Pedals then appear in Win98
and Win2k as "Z only".
I then run both Nascar 4 and GPL and bother controllers run like a dream.
However I have noticed something strange.
Under Win98 LWFF is always controller a in a game and ch pedals (z only) is
controller b. However under Win2k they are reversed ?? Even though the
LWFF still appears as controller 1 in control panel and ch pedals still
appear as controller 2.
This is where GP 3 has a major problem in Win2k. GP3 (with the 1.13 path)
sees the LWFF as controller B therefore disables Force feedback. It sees
Controller A as the Z only (CH Pedals) ?? I am lost.
If I load win98SE GP3 sees LWFF as controller A and Z Only (CH Pedals) as
controller B so I have Force feedback.
Any Ideas?
My Questions are :
How are other CH Pedals owners configuring your pedals under win98 and
win2k? i.e.How are you defining them in Control Panel Game Controllers.?
Like I said smart games like Nascar 4 and GPL detect the multiple axis and
give me no problems however GP3 is painful. I think I need to determine the
best way to define the CH pedals under the CP to start forging ahead.
Thanks in advance
