Someone remember him????
I don't think that Dave Noonan is.
This guy devoted part of his life to make SimRacing good.
His converter were free and we all were proud of him.  He should also..
This person had great courage of spending time and passion to make
SimRacing racers HAPPY!HAPPY!HAPPY!HAPPY!HAPPY!HAPPY!HAPPY! by
publishing FREE! the converters.  He's my SimRacing hero more than
anyother and we should all respect him and BOYCOTT the Icr2 to N2
converter.  In 2 weeks everybody will have the converter on their web
site so why pay for it.  Even now a great guy who wants to make people
HAPPY!HAPPY!HAPPY!HAPPY! published the converter in a newsgroup.  He's a
heck of a great guy.  It's my opinion.  Capitalism is shit.  It's my
opinion.  Long live to free cars, setups, utilities, etc.!!!!!!  What
would you say if I would charge 10$ US for the Indianapolis track for
Icr2??????.  No.  I'm not the "$$$$$$ always $$$$$$" type of guy.
Remember Gerhard.  Remember...

You, sir, are a blistering idiot (as Arturo from Sliders would aptly
put it).

I've got some news for your slow brain: by discouraging people like
Dave from making sim addons you cause just one effect: less sim addons
will be created. I'm sure Dave Noonan will never bother writing
another one, and with all the grief he's gotten over this I can't
blame him. All you're accomplishing with your pathetic whining is
*damaging* the sim racing community be discouraging honest programmers
from being involved in it.

No. If it had, nobody would bother to buy commercial Agent. ymenard

With all due respect, discouraging those who write utilities
for profit is not damaging the r.a.s. at all. Someone will write
a free converter and will charge nothing. That's the way things
work around here.
"..discouraging honest programmers..."  Why would an honest
programmer be discouraged by someone complaining about having to
pay for a utility?  I could agree with that if the r.a.s was
historically a place to hawk utilities. It isn't, though.
It's a big myth around here that anyone is indispensable.
People come and go, they leave their mark in the form of advice,
utilities or both and move on. Behind them the vacuum fills and
others create. As repetitive as a Daytona post is the one where
people cry "..you're going to scare (insert favorite utility maker,
Software representative, webmaster) away!!".  Some do go away.
The utilities and support just keep on coming though.
I'd like to think of the r.a.s. as Mr. Carver does, as a
community where people share ideas, programs and tech advice
for the love of the sims. Those who share the utilities for
free have no reason to be discouraged by someone whining about
paying for them.  The ones who charge may, indeed, be discouraged.
However, as I said before, someone will create the same program
and distribute it for free. And this makes that programmer no
less honest.

Gavel

        <snip>

                                          ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Uhhh, not to start a political debate or anything, but I believe any
fan of motor racing would have problems living in a completely
non-capitalist world.  If I am not mistaken, the vast majority of the
motor racing series' that people actually care about are funded with
the results of capitalist "greed".  At least that has been my
observation here in the US.  And whenever I watch F1, Winston Cup,
CART, IRL, Touring Cars, etc., they all seem to have one thing in
common -- advertising!  That's what pays the bills.  I haven't heard,
but is Fidel Castro sponsoring a Winston Cup car next season?

So whether you agree or disagree with capitalism, if you enjoy the
top levels of motor racing, you are probably benefitting from its
spoils.

Just my two cents worth . . .
