Nobody will get annoyed if you join, just as long as you make room for
guys who are clearly faster than you, and don't drive the track
backwards :)

Be careful at the start! If you qualify at the back of the grid, you
probably are slower than the guys in front of you. Thus, there is no point
in trying to pass before turn 1. If you do, you'll probably cause an ugly
crash. Start crashes are pissing people off, and make ugly language appear
in my chat window.

Besides: Remember that there is a time lag at the internet. For that reason,
the car in front of you i closer than it seems. Do not run as close to your
internet opponent as you would do with your AI opponent.

When I race online there are only two things that get my goat::

1.  First corner chaos.
2.  Back-markers who insist on racing you and punting you off the track.

So, take it easy at turn 1 and observe the blue flag and you'll be fine =)
No matter how fast or slow you are, there is always someone is the race
close to your level.
I've never joined a race yet when I've been way out front or miles behind.
Give it a try, you'll love it!
Cheers,
...Colin

Not always.  75% of my online races, I don't see another car after lap 3..

Usually cos 75% of racers disco themselves after lap 1 cos of crashes!

Still baffles me that one. What's the point of going for a race if
you're going to cry off cos you've crashed whether it's your fault or
not. Some of the best races I've had have been after colliding with
debris. All the cars start again and it's usually a good s***as we try
to get back with the pack.

The best thing to do when you first go on vroc is to call yourself
InDiGo"  -- then everyone will really like you and you'll make friends very
quickly......   (only joking)

I'm proud to say I've never disco'd (on purpose) from an online race.  I finish
every race I start, although my league Ring race was rather boring...

I one of those who will quit before the race has finished but only if I've
crashed hard enough that the car is undriveable. Why do I do that? Simple. I
drive every race like it was Pro mode. The only time I'll Shift-R is if it's
early in the race and I have a league race at that track later in the week.
It has nothing to do with the lower chances of winning. I think I've only
won one or two races in the year + that I've been racing on VROC.
