NASCAR Speed and Automatic Braking

My T2 has been busted for quite some time now so I'm using
a joystick until I can get another one. The question is, has
anyone been able to achieve the same speeds on tracks such
as Michigan,Bristol,Dover and C***te with Automatic Braking
rather than manual??????? I can't seem to get up to speed and
compete for a win on Hawaii at these tracks. I have noticed
other racers diving into the turns harder than I due to the
automatic braking I'm using and this probably does answer my
question but I was wondering if the same speeds are possible!!

Thanks in advance,

With Automatic Braking on you can't go fast... It is very conservative.
It is really only useful for one thing...Learning the road coarses.

automatic braking severely slows you down, even accelerating out.
automatic shifting is slow too.  treat them as learning aids only.

i found that hitting the alt and b key every turn will pick it up.  i will
hit it going into corner and then hit it exiting corner and i could hang
with the big boys on 90% of the tracks.

Exactly how many arms/fingers do you have, anyway?
