A number 10 car, and

"A note to anyone who is planning on going to Goodwood expecting to
drive our simulator: There will not be a demo at Goodwood but we shall
be announcing our project and will be giving out some information
about it"

Chris and Tony must have a really field day with their latest "How to
create some internet frenzy" stunt :)

So basically we're back to square one.

I'm not buying into the hype this time.  When I can drive it, I'll either
like it or I won't.  I think a lot of people (myself included) have set
themselves up for disappointment.  We all want the perfect sim, and have yet
to see it, although some have come very close.  The West's new sim - which
most likely won't be called WSC - has the potential, but then again, so have
a few others that have not lived up to expectations.  We'll just have to
wait and see...

Yeah, I agree, no point in buying in on hype...  when a demo or full release
is out, then maybe we can get e***d, but not before.  And besides, we have
FIAGTv3 to keep us busy now.

I know the secret.
The West are going to announce their new game.
It's a monster raising, extreme skateboard game, with online multiplayer
capture the flag play, all taking place in a massive persistant online
hi-tech urban hip-hop world..... oh yeah... it is for the XBox and PS2....

Seriously. How can this game, or any other live up to the hype. This game is
being set-up to be all things to all people. With this wide of a scope, how
can the game ever make everyone happy?

I think we can all agree that good Physics, Net Code, Graphics, Net Code,
3rd party expandability tools and Replay's all in the one package would be
sufficient.

No title to date has got all of that right.

I'm looking forward to the first one that will

And since it's supposed to be a very open sim, it really needs
some way to check that the drivers entering an online race don't
drive anything else than what they are supposed to drive.

Online racing won't be much fun if the server can't detect
a driver having to much horsepower, to much grip or whatever.

Uh, Chris and Tony haven't hyped anything in over a year.  It's
ridiculous to get upset about a game being hyped when the developers
haven't been allowed to even talk about it.  How is that hype?

Now that they can actually give information again, things will be
better.  People forget that Dave Kaemmer himself was highly impressed
with this sim, and that was 2 years ago.

I was referring to the hype two or three years ago - I don't even remember
how long it's been.  I'm not upset either.  Just not going to get my hopes
up.

I'd say that was probably the best strategy from day 1. =)

I sort of expected this countdown was just going to mark the day that
the Wests could talk again, which I'm e***d about.  Not getting my
hopes up or anything, but I'm interested in seeing what their plans
are.
