It sucks even worse being 30 years old and having to _pay_ for all these
things.  ;)

Good point.  I have DSL but if you cannot get it in your area, you can
look into Direct PC.  I know nothing about it - just that they have a
DSS/DirectPC dish that combines the two.

I cringe at the thought of satellite internet access.  It should be fast,
but not conducive to *** because of higher latencies.

Maybe I should have said, I'm paying so much for cable because I'm paying
for:

1. All 3-tiers
2. 3 additional outlets
3. Cable-internet access
4. 1 extra IP address

If I were to use satellite, I would need 4 satellite dishes and more.   I
don't hate cable;  I was just saying they love me because I'm using all of
their services :-D

Why not dump the second IP and get a LinkSys Router? It allows you to
use NAT setup basic Firewall features and it even handles DHCP.
Spending $160 now might save $ later?

I got the 2nd IP address because I had to get my YouBeTheBoss server up quickly
and painlessly :-)  I built a Linux Red Hat 6.0 server with 2 ethernet cards
which could/might actually be used as a router but I hate making life hard for
myself.

I have a Linksys 10/100 hub, but that's child's play compared to a router.

Ahh... it looks nice and only $329.99 from Futureshop Canada :-(

Well at least I have a possible simpler idea than using Linux .. :-)
