stupid cable provider doesn't provide speedvision.  I've been bugging them
for the past year, and it might pay off. They say maybe in around 4-5
months.
I HATE hearing about all the cool stuff on speedvision =)

Hi,
I am in the same boat!  Just reciently two places around where I live
(Halifax, NS), Bedford/Sackville and Dartmouth got speedvision and my area
doesn't have it!  They are playing radio adds talking about all of the
great NASCAR shows/racing news that you can get and it makes me mad! :(
I'll have to call e-mail my cable operator!

Later,
John

Speedvision has made my other channels almost obsolete! :-D  Speedvision is as
much a necessity as cable-modems.  At least my cable company likes me with
over $100 CAD bill a month :-P

Thank you Speedvision!
Jason.

Call them every couple of weeks, and get some friends to do the same
(even if they're not motorsport fans...the more people who call, the
quicker they respond).

I got tired of waiting after several times the CTV company said it would have it
in a few month, so I bought a satalite dish. They have all sorts of races and
racing shows that make it well worth it. I was paying $32 a month for CTV and
now I pay $40 for STV.

DSS is the ticket.  Much better picture and they have SpeedVision.
Even better, the Fox sport channels re-broadcast all F1 races the same
day - you can pick the time to watch.

May cost $10 more a month but well worth it.

I'm stuck with no Speedvision EVER coming most likely and a 56k modem that
connects at only 31200 bps...

I'm getting 67 channels (including superchannel and some american
superstations) for $35 (CDN) a month.  I'll wait a few more months for the
speedvision.

If only I can get my friend to quit telling me about all the good stuff he's
always watching.....

No Speedvision? I have 2 words for you -- Dish Network. I got my dish
about 2 months ago and Speedvision was not part of the package. In the
last month, they have added it as part of their Top 150 package, which
is $39.99/month. In addition to that package, I have the HBO package,
which adds 6 HBO channels for another $10.99/month. So, for just over
$50/month, I get around 160 channels, including Speedvision. That
beats the hell out of the $75/month I was paying for cable, which gave
me about 50 channels. You really should check into it...

75$ for cable? That's quite expensive! Wish we could receive
Speedvision here in Holland. Now I've got do do it with Discovery,
Eurosport, and Duke's Video...

But do they have fast internet access?  I would still have to buy cable for
the internet.

Well, I WOULD get a dish, but I would have to convince my father to go in for
it.  It kinda sucks being 16 years old. . .
