Hi Julian,

On starting a network game the N2 software checks that the _answering_
machine (the server) has the CD in the drive, but all others only need
the software installed to hard disk. I believe that fakecd can obviate
the need for even the server to have the CD in the drive.

Cheers!

Which annoying policy is that exactly? That pesky annoying "You've got
to have a SINGLE CD in the server machine for a multiplayer game"
policy? Boy, on second thought, that does seem damned unreasonable. I
sure hope someone comes along and forces game companies to abandon that
policy...

Whatever,

"Annoying Policy?"  You mean actually paying for a game is annoying?  I
guess these game companies should stay in business forever by just
making free games?!?  Why should a company (any business) allow six
customers to use one product?  How long do you think they'd stay in
business, generating 60,000 sales, when they could generate 360,000?
It'd only be a matter of time before that company's staff and project
goals were cut, and eventually...well, you get the idea.
