NFSPU - Setting up controller

Is anybody else having a problem with the controller setup menu? When I
get to this menu on a friend's computer the mouse jerks erratically with
the slightest movement, almost like I'm only getting one frame of mouse
movement every 2-3 secs. It's bad enough that I can hardly even get out
of the menu, much less set up his wheel. It only happens in this menu,
too... graphics, sound, everything else runs without a hitch .He's got a
P3 500, Voodoo3 3500, SB Live!, 256 meg of RAM, and a Logitech Wingman
FF. I have a similar setup, only less cpu & RAM, and my mouse is jerky
but I can get the job done. Any answers?

Thanks,

Warlock!

Weird.  This happens on my work computer, but not on my home computer.
The specs are almost identical too.
