To be honest I dont know enough about how OLR has their stuff setup to
answer this.
The only way I'm sure you go thru all the checks is thru sierra, however OLR
may have something along these lines, but they would have to answer that.

So, if PWF does further mods, say, that aren't in the patch, does this
mean we would be waiting for another patch in order to have any real
chance of playing those mods, outside of joining a league or similar?

Re: cheating, I am assuming that Sierra is doing a CRC check on the
exe?

Thanks,
Gerald

I obviously can't answer for PWF and what kind of support they would
receive from Papy in the future, but for the mods we have in the works
(currently AussieV8's !!! and Nascar Legends), that would most likely be
the case

Direct connect through IP only is my understanding

Just trying to be clear: the mods you are working on require a new
exe?  Or is this stuff that can go in an ini file somewhere?  Perhaps
someone will write some server matching tools for the community.

re: Legends, if you need any help at all, I can do some
drawing/painting.  This is the era that gets me all slobbery.

I won't go into details as we're not there yet, hell, the patch hasn't
even been released yet so we don't have the final stuff to work on yet,
but I can't see us doing it any other way than hacking one of the 4
physics models that Papy/PWF is putting out

We've already done quite a bit of work on our own for quite some time
now, but without knowing exactly what's going to be changed, we've
slowed down that bit for the time being, but I'm 99% sure you won't be
able to race our mods through Sierra

Matching tool....worked for GPL didn't it :-), VROC for nascar mods, why
not

We may need a bit of painting help actually, the poor guys over on
IWCCCARS have plenty on their plate already, we'll probably post a
message when the time comes if we do, you any good at doing templates ?

If you mean creating something along the lines of Brian Simpson's
stuff for the NR series, I've never tried to do it.  And probably
wouldn't have enough spare time to really give it a good attempt.
Mainly I just do paintjobs/skins.  I did fool around quite a bit with
creating wall textures way back in the DOOM and Quake days.  But I am
very interested to see this come to fruition, so I will help out any
way that I can.

Thumbs up,
Gerald

Right, well, Ken Shropshire of IWCCCARS is the one collecting names, so
if you head on over there and use their contact form, I'm sure he'll be
delighted, or if this is a working e-mail addy I can forward your name
to him, whatever suits you best :-)

This addy is bogus.  I'll contact Ken via the IWCCCARS site.

Goy, I'm being dense probably, but, just where do I go to get in
contact with Ken? Thx.

And then use the "contribute" function, I believe that this goes
directly to Ken, I'd rather not post his e-mail here, alternatively you
can send a mail to the addy in my sig and I'll forward you name and
e-mail addy to Ken
