Help appreciated on force feedback with new Thrustmaster Firestorm Dual Power under XP

Just bought a Thrustmaster Firestorm Dual Power 2 Gamepad with Force
Feedback. It got excellent reviews so I figured it would be a good buy. In
the test screen of the control panel you can test the force feedback and it
works but for the life of me I can't get it to work in NASCAR Racing 2002
Season. It accepts the check box under control setup and you can adjust the
force feedback sliders ( yes, I have turned off steering assist). Any help
please? I'm running XP Professional on an Intel 2.2 GIG with Geforce 4
Ti4600 128 DDR if that helps.

For what it's worth I just got a similar rumble pad from Logitech. (My
Thrustmaster 360 Modena wheel keeps breaking every 2 weeks.  I'm on my 4 th
one.)

Anyway twin joystick ff pad works in NR2002 and Win XP Pro just fine.

Am actually having more fun (albeit running slower) then when I use the non
ff wheel.  Much more feedback and I get a much more vivid feel of controling
a car that is on the edge.  Makes me really want to get a decent ff wheel
but I have to find one that has hand controlled analog paddles for
acceleration and braking.  That's the reason I got the rumble pad in the
first place.

Keep tinkering, it will be worth it.

Are there some generic Microsoft drivers that need to be installed for ff
before the manufacturers drivers will work??

For my Logitech no.  Just the USB drivers it (XP) will install itself when
it detects the pad.

Me too. Works under the test window fine but in both NASCAR Racing Season
2002 and GP 4 nothing. Except on GP4 when the load screen finishes and you
are on the grid it rumbles for a second and then nothing.
I'm using Mapper version 3.10
