NASCAR 2 - Bugs and Comments

Adam, and all the folks at Papyrus:

I've been playing with the sim now for about a week, and I want to say,
overall I'm pleased with it, but I wanted to share my comments, bug
discoveries and suggestions with you (and everybody else in r.a.s.)

Comments:

1) Reworked tracks are great

2) I think the new menu system is tougher to use because it's
not immediately obvious what you're supposed to click on
to make things happen.  Maybe placing the menus on a
low-opacity rectangle so we can spot things better...

3) Paintkit spray can and blend tools are cool.

4) We can no longer cut and paste graphics from one car to
another.  This is big-time bad news.

5) The new palette has fewer shades of blue than the one in
NCR1.  Again, I don't care for this change.

6) I haven't yet found a way to save a race weekend in
progress.  Note that I don't mean saving a race in
progress, but instead want to be able to practice
one day, qual another day, and race on yet another
    day.

7) Saving a race in progress is not necessary and
should not be restored to the sim as a feature.

8) Papy should let us use ALL 256 colors (or at least
250), and should contract out with someone to
create a Windows paint program that can handle
pallete issues that we're all facing now when we
try to use an app like Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro
    to paint our cars.

9) I hope someone comes up with a more intuitive
car list and driver editor soon.  Features I'd like
to see is to allow us to indicate which car are the
ability to pick the huma player from the list, sort
the list based on car number, change all info for
a given driver, etc.  Of course the program must
be written for Win95, and should (in a perfect
world) include a painting program as described
    in item 8 above).

10) It took me a couple of hours to figure out how to
change the driver in the list from "#xx New Driver"
to what I really wanted it to say.  Again, not very
      intuitive.

Bugs

1) Outside walls are still rendered incorrectly in replays.
Example - at 'dega as you travel through the dogleg,
you can see "Talladega" backwards on the wall.

2) I was driving around backwards on 'dega the other
day and purposefully ran into the pace car (my
intention was to hear what the spotter would say if I did
something like that.  In the replay, the pace car was
NOT shown when I hit it.  It appeared as if I hit an
invisible brick wall. (Damage and yellow flags were off,
and I was in a quick race in the "RACE" session).

Suggestions

1) A way to add our own billboard graphics.

2) A female spotter voice using provacative innuendo
and sultry tones to let us know what's going on on
    the track.

3) A randomly occurring earthquake at Sears Point
(I guess you would call this an "act of god" setting,
something along the lines of weather, but a little
    more destructive).

4) Catch fence failures where large pieces of Craven's
car goes bounding, unimpeaded, into the grandstands,
killing and injuring dozens of people.  Of course, it
would be cool if we could see their faces as they die
    on the replay.

5) A menu system with terminology Joel Putty will
    understand.

6) A Quake level designed around a Nascar garage
    and pit lane.

7) How about a Voodoo version of both ICR2 and
NCR2.  I personally have a Reactor car (actually two
of them), but I have a feeling that the Voodoo will
reap much better performance numbers for most
    individuals.

That's it for now.  If I think of anything else, I'll let you know.
