Help: GP2 and Aptiva MWave sound card

I have an Aptiva with thw MWave sound card which is supposed to be
Soundblaster compatible, but I can't get GP2 to recognize it. Does
anybody out there have any suggestions for fixing this problem?
It really sucks playing in silence.
