Implenting weight transfer

Hi!

I'm currently developing a racing game with a friend. It's already
working fine, but I've still a small problem that is about weight
transfer.
I know how it works in car physics but how can I implent it in my game
code? I don't know where I should place the code or how it might look
like.
Could you please describe an appproach?

Are you using some kind of rigid body system? If so the weight transfer
should fall out for free.
If not how are you handling the mass of the car etc.

Hi!

Yes, I'm using a rigid body system and I'm happy to hear not to have
more work ;)
I haven't implented suspension to the cars yet, so I probably couldn't
see any weight transfer effects :)

Well, no suspensions are the same as infinitely stiff suspensions, so
you should.
You need a CG, center of gravity, and if you apply the forces that
make your car go forward, if it's not applied at the CG height, a
moment (pitching moment) will enter your rigid body. This tries to
flip (pitch) the car (rigid body). The ratio of the forces keeping the
car straight is your weight transfer, but indeed, it won't be coded as
explicitly as that.

All depends whether your rigid bodies can rotate. Probably can.

Well, I think I should implent suspensions soon ;)
The wheel collision detection doesn't work right yet, so
I skipped the susp prob for the first time.
Right now my cars are only handled as (rotating) obboxes.
