IRL Heat

IRL Heat

Okay, I REALLY don't want to wade into the whole IRL versus CART
controversy, but is anybody besides me interested in the possibility
of a new IRL sim?  If so, how does an IRL sim based on the NASCAR Heat
game physics engine sound to you?  Well that's just what I'm working
on at the moment -- I'm calling it the "IRL Heat" project, and it will
be a total IRL conversion for NASCAR Heat.

Sound interesting now?  If so, then check this out:

FWIW, before you decide to unleash any inane diatribes against the IRL
and Tony George, or start spouting about how CART is better than the
IRL, keep in mind that I'm the one who's developed the CART chassis
physics for the CART2K conversion for F1 2000 and F1CS2K, and I have
been sharing that CART physics info with the folks who are working on
the "CART Heat" project.  So, if you lust for a CART sim, please
refrain from lapsing into the inane here, lest ye***me off and
scuttle any chances of me helping out any further on those CART
efforts.  In other words, let's stay on-topic for a change, shall we?
<G>

;-)

So, whaddaya think about "IRL Heat"?

John,

I'm interested in any North American open wheel racing sim.

Awesome John!

I don't own NASCAR Heat, but would buy it to have an updated IRL sim!

You like the screen shots, I take it?  <G>

As for NASCAR Heat, it's a good game in and of itself, Jay -- the most
fun I've ever had with a NASCAR sim (and the only one I've truly had
any desire to spend any amount of time with).  Plus, it's got a VERY
realistic driving model, and a neat "Beat the Heat" mode that puts you
in the driver's seat for various racing scenarios (drafting practice,
moving up in the pack to finish 3rd or better, etc.) -- lots of fun to
be had!  The IRL patch will be THE icing on the cake, though!
