Arcade Racing

I own 2 PCs with LAN cards and would like to find a simple racing game for
when my friends come over. It should:
1) Run good on a P200 w/o accelerator card
2) Run on a LAN (of course)
3) Run on 2 PCs with 1 disk, or be cheap enough now for me to by 2, say
$15-20 tops.

Let me add that I would prefer an arcade-type game for this purpose. My
friends are not necessarily into sims. Ideal would be one of those games
where you earn money to buy upgrades. (I realize this is a sim group, but I
figure it is the best place to ask).
Also, I posted a message something like this before. Would Need for Speed
(SE or II) fit the bill? I have upgraded since the last time I asked and can
probably handle something fancier. Thanks.

I do all sorts of racing, and NFS SE is still the one I throw on the
network when my friends are coming over.  No 3D accelerator required,
easy to pick up gameplay, tons of fun.

Best part is you can buy it for less than $15 at lots of places (it's
part of EA's CD-ROM Classics series) and you only need one CD - you
can install a "client" version on your second machine (about 100-120
meg).

If you really want to splurge, get a TM Grand Prix 1 for around $30 -
they'll swear it's the coolest thing they've ever done on a PC.  I'm
assuming you already have a wheel for yourself, of course...

All in all, an absolute winner.

Good luck!

Rally Championship by Europress.
It's an older game (but graphics are still pretty good). Runs very well on
P200 computers. No 3D accelerator card needed (or even used if you had one).
I think it runs on a lan (this I'm not so sure about, I think it does). It's
also very cheap (? $20 ?).

It's one of the best arcade racing games ever. Give it a try.

Try MTM, or Big Red Racing, or RAC Rally Championship, or Screamer
2, or Destruction Derby, or GP2 on a serial link.

For good "bang'em up" racing, get TOCA! It has some awesome action!
