I have 20 tracks currently installed, all with updated graphics.

I had assumed ( I know :o) ) that the 67season.ini should have just the
tracks from the 67 season or the ones one wanted to race in a sim of another
67 season;  while the gp.ini would have a list of all the tracks available
for training sessions or quick 1 race sessions etc.

When I edit the files and put all 20 into the gp.ini file and only the
original 11 into the 67season.ini I lose the ability to train or race a
quick 1 race on my addons and yet strangely all 20 tracks show up if I chose
a championship season race.  ???

It's as if  the usage of these two files is reversed from my original
assumptions.  (not the first time.)

How does the the game use these files ?

Is the order of the tracks in the files of any importance ?   One seems to
be sorted alphabetical by track name and one in race # order.

Any info on the use of these files would be welcome.

The gp.ini file is the file that regulates which tracks are to be included
if you want to start a championship season.

there are also different tools "out there" that could make life easier.

Thanks for the reply.

I have tried some of the car, track and ai managers out there but for some
reason or other (probably idiot at the helm) have had problems with them.  I
either had install problems (GPLAIM on XP Pro) or was not sure how to use
them once installed.  I was afraid to***up my GPL install completely.
Will try again when I'm a bit more brave.  :o)

Installed all the car and track addons so far by hand  and they all seem to
work well.
