NFSPU engine braking

I've been playing the NFSPU demo.  It seems to me that the cars keep to much
inertia.  When you let off the gas, the car doesn't slow down enough. I
mean, with the engine rapped out at 6500rpm, shouldn't there be some engine
braking that slows down the car?

Am I wrong, or is this just an problem in the demo?

NFSPU engine braking

After trying some other games, and going for a drive in my own 5-speed, I've
decided the problem is that the engine sound doesn't change when you let off
the gas in NFSPU.
Anyone with me here?  Is this true in the full version of PU also?

Dunno about this game in particular, but many games seem to have the engine
sound as a function of the rpm only.  This is clearly not right, as changing
the position of the accelerator pedal, and depending on whether you are
going up hill or down hill, clearly has an effect on the sound of the
engine.

Also, about slowing down when you let off the gas, it varies a lot from car
to car.  In my car, I can virtually come to a stop by just changing down
through the gears, but on my parents car, it just goes on and on and on
until you start to use the brake.

Suppose you would have to actually drive the car in real life to check the
realism!!
