Redline Race Controls is back

I think ECCI is dropping the ball by not offering the 6000 pedals seperately
any longer (or at least until they get production up).  I lucked out because
someone placed the order for the 6000 pedals adapted for a Momo force with
PMB2 but never finalized the order.  I just happened to call looking for a
set of the 4000 pedals (Tractor pedals) for $199 which they didnt have so I
JUMPED at the 6000's and have been wildly happy with them.  I just sit and
stare at em sometimes :-)~   Believe it or not its hard to get full
enjoyment of these cause they are so transparent.  They just feel so natural
you forget about them and concentrate more on the sim/line youre running :-)
Knowwhatimean vern?  ;)

Now that I think of it my enjoyment of F1C/mods a drastically increased
since I recieved this pedal set.  Could be because I can brake fully without
the mass brake locks like before.

enlightened us by scribbling this gem of wisdom:

>> ECCI 6000 series PMB2 option has a similar effect at preventing braking
>> lockups, though it uses a different type of mechanism.

>That's what I've been told too, and while the method is different, the
>end result is the same, and people who haven't tried these systems
>usually don't get it, you get a "feel" for the brakes that's just
>unbelievable

>Some people have modified their various pedal sets with squash balls and
>stuff to get the same thing, and I know a couple of guys who have used
>springs from a Mini clutch assembly on their Logitech pedals .... Hi Ed,
>Matt :-D, all to get that important extra pressure for the brake pedal

>I modified my old CH Pro Pedals to get some of that feel as well and was
>quite happy with that, until someone posted a link to the RedLine pedals
>in here, and I knew I had to own a set of those, my brother took one
>look at mine when they arrived and placed an order as well :-D

Hmm
Are the redline pedals compatible with "stock" steering wheel units,
(like a Thrustmaster, Logitech, TSW, momo, etc?).   Are they
compatible with gameport and USB wheels?

How would you hook them up, for instance, to an old gameport wheel?
Simple Y-cable?

<Gibs> When you kill 6 people in Unreal Tournament
it is "MonsterKill", In Quake3 it is "Excellent",
in Counter-Strike it is "Kicked by console"

My pennies are being saved even now.  But I got clamped yesterday and
I'm now out of pocket 165...

My own damn fault...

Mine are a special order so I could hook them up to a homemade wheel
with a Thrustmaster wiring loom, I just forwarded the details to Nigel
and he took care of the rest, that was over 4 years ago so I really
don't know how he does this now

I'm guessing he got his car "clamped" for wrong parking .....

The Brits are serious about their parking regs, if you're really unlucky
they'll put a lock/clamp on one of your wheels with a note telling you
who to call to come and "unclamp" it and what it's going to cost you
..... fine to paid on the spot I believe, and there's no telling how
long it will take before the clamping crew get around to *your* car

Wouldn't surprise, personally I'd be happy to go "Dutch" with someone
who's looking for the ECCI pedals as I may be in the market for a ECCI
wheel myself, but since I already have the best pedals....:-D

That reminds me that I just saw on the TV the guy that dresses up as a bad
"Superman" then gets his steel cutting saw and goes down the street cutting
off those clamps :-)

Thats a great idea and I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I believe all
of the electronics are in the wheel.  This is what I was after initially but
they didnt offer standalone USB pedals ATM.  What I'll end up doing after
both my Momo's die is rip out the power supply from the orig pedals and the
electronics from the Wheel and mount them in a plastic radio shack box then
I can attach the box to the pedals.

I'd have to disagree about which pedals are "BEST" ;)    Looks DO MATTER <g>

I like FF effects so my next wheel will likely be the BRD Speed7 if it lives
up to the hype.

They do it in Chicago too...its called a "Denver Boot" here.  There was an
episode of the Simpson's where Homer got booted and couldn't get it off so
he drove away with it still on there...hilarious.

Nail hit on head.  Been using the same "bad" space for 5 years so count
myself in pocket - especially with the general 15ish per day it costs for a
legit space...

It was fair enough - no way am I gonna argue that I was in the right.  Can't
think of anything more futile than arguing with a clamper!

Cheers,

Mark
