Its so easy to dump on someone because the gang is. I believe
your American football term is called piling on.
There are many good things Don does in this "community" that
few here even know about. And I know dam well Don would be
embarassed if I mentioned them.
Don does and says many things I don't agree with and I have had
many discussions and arguements with him over the years.
You know its funny when I think back to when the "scum" at BHMS
kicked me off their "team" because I told them I had to start chemo therapy.
I had just finished their business plan and shareholders agreement which
they didn't have a clue how to do. I was informed that I was no longer
useful to them because I would be too sick to help them make money.
The first person that called me to see how I was doing was Don. Don
and I had, had a falling out and weren't even speaking to each other.
The people who were supposed to be my friends shit on me. I learned
a good lesson that day on who your friends really are.
I have several good friends that I have made in racing and on this NG
and for that I'm thankful as my outside social life isn't an option most of
the
time.
If Don doesn't see me online for a few days he's on the phone making
sure I'm okay. He has tried finding different Doctors or treatments that
might
help me. It sounds sort of sappy and I'm not even sure why I'm saying this.
Don is Don and thats not going to change. I don't pretend to or even
want
to try and change peoples thinking. They can make there own choices on
why they want to like, hate or ignore him.
My father told me along time ago "Don't judge a book by its cover." Its
much
easier to sit back and criticize or ridicule someone than try and understand
them.
I learned a long time ago that I'm not perfect and I haven't seen anyone
in here,
from day one, that is either. Although Goy comes close. :-)

If this post offends anyone because I speak well of Don, too bad go ***
yourself.

Pete, I'm just curious, you do not live in Florida, you don't even live on this
side of the ocean.

So just exactly how do you "know the person who was racing from an introduction
from Don."?
I'm just curious :)

I see that Goy already answered part of this but I live In Canada.
I happened to be on the phone with Don when the VRW race
was in progress. There were several people there who he named
and told them he was talking with me from Canada. He told me the
web link and that I should come online and watch how well his friend
was doing. We talked for about 10 or 15 minutes. We went through
several setups that I was working on and he read out to me some
changes he made on a setup which he had to look up on his system.
We emailed the setups to each other all while the race was taking
place.
I can only comment on this one particular race and I have done so.
I have been on the phone on other ocassions with Don when he has
had these people over.
I also raced one night not too long ago with one of the individuals.
I said Hi thinking it was Don and he whispered back that its wasn't Don.
We chatted a bit then asked me to go into a race with him. I told him
I hadn't done a setup for the particular track since the patch had come out.
He sent me his. We finished first and second in the race with 20 other
people. He beat me by 20 seconds in a 60 lap race at Texas. He was pretty
good.
Thats all I can tell you. If you don't want to believe me well so be it.

It was a hell of a setup whoever did it. :-) I screwed
up my pit stop which made the gap worse than it would
have been..
