GPL bug in Carsetup?

by David Mocn » Thu, 29 Oct 1998 04:00:00

I only started fiddling with the garage in GPL. I have the game set to
"metric" and figured I'll try and modify the setup for South-Affrica. This is
where the problem comes in. The bump-*** setting are on something like
1.26cm by default. If I try to lower this (or change it to anything else) it
jumps to about 2.6cm and will not let me put it any lower. This happens on the
bump-*** for each wheel. Now here are my thoughts, either there is :

a) A bug that will not let me set the bump-*** as low as it is in the
default setup.

b) or GPL doesn't update the "figures" from imperial measurments to matric
when you toggle this optoion (I don't toggle it, I just have it set on
"Matric", but maybe it's set to "imperial" by default). That would mean that
it's saying that bump-*** is set at 1.26 inches (even though it shows CM
extension), but when you try and change it, it updates the figure into
centimeters (CM) and "flips" it to 2.6 (or something like that) cm.

Has anyone else seen this? Any thoughs on that?

David Mocnay

I'm pretty sure the bump *** minimums were increased just before the
release of GPL but the setups you have were done before that change (my
theory).
