I know this is a bit OT, but...
Can anyone recommend a good 17 or 19 inch monitor for a good price?
There are many choices out there.

Can someone with some experience with a demanding (graphically) game
like GPL and a 17 or 19 inch monitor give me a recommendation for a
monitor (and model) they are happy with??

I'll put my vote in for Optiquest V95,19 in.I bought this 3 months ago after
comparing all the 19 inchers,excellent value under $500.

Dave, I picked off a Gateway 17" from ebay for under $200 US including shipping
and am very happy with it.

Now I have the 20" Sony Trinitron that I got for free.  If I had paid
for it, I wouldn't have kept it -- the 2 horizontal wire shadows drive
me nuts!  I've always liked Viewsonic -- excellent, sharp picture, but
never had one larger than 15".

Unfortunatly for me.... I'm back to a 15" MAG now.. as the !9" belong to my
workplace.. :(

Here in Dallas, Best Buy is selling 19" KDS monitors for $400.  My roomie
got one in Nov and it looks just fine to me.

I have an old Sony 17" on my previous machine that's about to die.  If it
goes in the next month or so, I'll almost certainly go with that 19" KDS
myself.

I have a 21" Hitachi on my main system.  Looks great, and when I got it
three years ago I happened to get a great deal on it.  Today, the 21" KDS
is selling for about 1/2 what I paid for it.

I'm constantly astonished by the size/features/power and general bang for
the buck available in the computing industry.

I see several recommendations for the 19" Optiquest V95, BuySoftware has it
for $453.16 including shipping.

If that is too much, I am very happy with my Mag DJ700 17" Monitor, which is
$256.15 including shipping at BuySoftware.
