course! But I've popped back home for a short computer visit and I've
caught up with it all.... for now :-)
So here goes, tracks released in July (so far):
- Funabashi
A real track in Japan that was used in the late sixties. Quite modern
in layout style IMO. Something for you historics too :-) The track is
done by Polar Blue 21 who's up to 5 tracks now!
- Pau
A great city circuit!! Easier to get a flow in driving compared to
Monaco IMO but it has some similarities too. By Alain Bosco of Road67
fame!
- Road Ontario
A very nice Canadian track in a similar style to Mosport, VIR, Road
Atlanta... Great drive with lots of different sections! By Mike
Bennett.
- Reims
Well... DON'T miss this one! By Dave and Pete Allam.
- Strava's Slot Tracks
Strava has made a whole bunch of tracks with great flow to drive! He's
actually based them all on slot tracks he's had at home but it's
amazing how great they are to drive in GPL!! My personal favourites
are the two Clermont tracks (I like hilly tracks :-) and Bouton Run
and Logan and...
- Monza 1999 (with chicanes)
A very early beta/alpha release but fully drivable and most elevations
done.
- Green Monster
A fantasy oval very well done by JimGriffie. Still in beta but I
really can't see why? Very nice trackside objects and fun to drive...
for an oval ;-)
- Le Mas Du Clos
This (real) very twisty little track was originally released a year
ago. But now it's been re-released with slightly adjusted track layout
(affecting track times and WR at GPL Rank) and updated graphics too. A
bit more camber in some places has made this track a bit easier for
everyone in F1. Well suited for F2/FD!
As always, http://www.racesimcentral.net/ and just hit the button "New stuff!"
And pleeeeeeeeze add your opinions to all tracks you've tried!! Just
click on the "Add rating" button next to each track! A BIG THANKS to
everyone who's submitted ratings so far, we're currently up to 7200 of
them :-D !! They are all a big help for GPL newcomers or people just
like me, getting lost in the big nice pile of tracks for GPL!
Cheers!!
